A stainless steel gate is the "front face" of your home and your first line of defense. A single good investment can last decades — but choosing wrong, or hiring a craftsman who uses substandard material, leads to rust and sagging doors.

1. Check the grade (it must be Grade 304)

For outdoor gates exposed to sun, rain and humidity all year round, use only genuine Grade 304 (SUS 304) stainless steel. It contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, forming a permanent rust-proof film. Avoid Grade 201, which tends to develop rust spots over time.

2. Tube and sheet thickness

Thickness directly affects strength and durability:

  • Main frame structure: at least 1.2–1.5 mm to prevent bending under load.
  • Bars and decorative patterns: 1.0–1.2 mm for the right balance of strength and weight.

3. Choosing the pattern and opening type

Match the design to your home's architecture:

  • Modern homes: straight or horizontal line patterns, or WPC wood-mixed stainless for a warm contemporary feel.
  • Classic / vintage homes: CNC laser-cut patterns, arrow-head designs or soft curved ironwork.
  • Opening system: sliding doors suit wide frontage; folding/swing doors suit limited space.

4. Rails and stainless rollers

Choose Grade 304 dual-bearing rollers for smooth, light and quiet sliding — and no derailing over time.

5. Pick an experienced workshop with a warranty

Welding and seam-finishing are the heart of craftsmanship. A highly experienced craftsman polishes welds smooth, leaves no pinholes, and backs the job with a post-install warranty.
